FinDrones keynotes
Jani Pihl, Skyfleet system – a unique solution for protecting critical infrastructure
Rumble Tools has been developing robotic drones for nearly ten years. Business Manager Jani Pihl will present the Skyfleet system – a unique solution for protecting critical infrastructure, currently in use in South Karelia (the only operational system of its kind in the world). Skyfleet consists of several robotic drones and their charging stations (Skynest), operating simultaneously and autonomously. The system continuously monitors large areas, provides real-time situational awareness, and enables rapid threat response. It is designed to keep the user informed – even remotely.
Following this, Samuel Venäläinen, Safety Manager for the City of Imatra, will share practical experiences.

Jyri Kosola, Suomen droonistrategia; missä ollaan ja mihin pitäisi päästä? (Finland’s drone strategy; where are we and where should we go?)
This presentation will be in Finnish.

Ari Saartenoja, New frontiers in droneborne geophysical data acquisition and processing for mineral exploration
As a co-founder and CEO of Radai Ltd, Ari Saartenoja has a wealth of experience, serving as the company’s CEO for over 13 years. He graduated from the University of Oulu in 1998, and has a major in Applied Mathematics. With a comprehensive background spanning more than two decades, he has excelled in project management, customer service, technical development, and team management. He has been developing new innovative geophysical survey systems for drones since 2012. Currently Ari is exporting Radai’s expertise in drone surveys by establishing partnerships in other parts of the world, the first one being Africa, where Radai is involved in joint ventures in Zambia and Tanzania.

Renske Martijnse-Hartikka, From concept to reality: drones and the role of municipalities.
In this keynote, Renske Martijnse-Hartikka, Smart Mobility Expert at Forum Virium Helsinki and Coordinator of the CITYAM project, will explore how cities can prepare for and manage the future of Urban Air Mobility.
The talk will cover:
- Governance approaches and the tools cities can use – including those developed by the CITYAM project – to better manage UAM
- Real-world use cases from and for cities
- Public acceptance: methods for assessment and key study results
Tove Jern, Legislative Change Brings Drones into Plant Protection Research – What Next?
Tove Jern, Chief Specialist, M.Sc. (agronomy), is expert on policy and legislation on the authorization and the sustainable use of plant protection products at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (in Finland) since 1998.

Mikko Hakojärvi, Possibilities and challenges of large agricultural UAVs in Europe and in Finland
