Helsinki Cathedral
Designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, the Cathedral stands prominently on the northern edge of Senate Square. As a key feature of Helsinki’s Empire-style city center, it serves as a striking landmark for those arriving by sea and has come to symbolize the city itself. Formerly known as St. Nicholas Church and the Great Cathedral, it became the main church of the Helsinki Diocese upon its completion in 1852. Statues of the twelve apostles adorn its roof, watching over the city below.

Suomenlinna Sea Fortress
Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site off the coast of Helsinki, is a historic sea fortress shaped by three distinct periods of rule; Swedish, Russian, and Finnish. Spanning six kilometers of defensive walls, the site features around 100 cannons, intriguing tunnels, and scenic parks. Visitors can also explore museums, join guided tours, attend events, and enjoy dining at various restaurants within the fortress.

Sibelius Monument
Located in Sibelius Park, the monument dedicated to world-renowned composer Jean Sibelius (1865–1957) was created by artist Eila Hiltunen and unveiled on September 7, 1967. Designed to resemble organ pipes, the sculpture is crafted from welded steel and features over 600 pipes, along with a bust of Sibelius on one side. It stands as one of Helsinki’s most iconic statues and a major attraction for visitors.

Temppeliaukio Church
Temppeliaukio Church, located in central Helsinki at the end of Fredrikinkatu, is a striking architectural landmark carved directly into solid rock. Designed by the Suomalainen brothers and completed in 1969, the church features a circular hall topped with a copper-lined dome, supported by reinforced concrete beams anchored into the rock walls. The dome includes 22 kilometers of copper, adding to the church’s unique and dramatic appearance.
